Andy Decker, MFA, is a doctoral student in the Composition and Applied Linguistics (CAL) PhD Program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in Indiana, PA, where he is helping to co-found IUP's new Center for Scholarly Communication. Andy just moved back to Pittsburgh, PA, after five years as a specially appointed lecturer in English education at Kansai University in Osaka, Japan. Before moving to Japan, he was a senior lecturer in the English Language Program at Chatham University in Pittsburgh. His research interests include intensive English programs, creative writing for academic purposes, and writing centers.
